Anyone have experience with Fujitsu notebook PC's?

Thread Starter
I walked into my local Borders today and there was a guy sitting in front of this large notebook PC with a brilliant display with external speakers on each side. It looked like he set up his home system at Borders! Anyway it was a laptop I had never seen before so I asked him which it was. It was a Fujitsu 17" laptop, I forget which model.
I have to say it looked nice, the display reminded me of the new Toshiba Qosmio 17" notebook, it was sharper and brighter than Sony's Xbrite display. Does anyone have any experience with Fujitsu notebooks?

I only hear excellent things about their Lifebook series, specially about their screens.

one of my good friends has an old fujitsu lifebook (p3 866mhz i think) and it still runs just fine, so in if long term quality is your things, fujitsu got it. and yeah, they look nice too

My mothers office gave her a Fujitsu S7010D a few months ago, don't know the stats but its really nice. Lightweight, doesn't get real hot, and the battery life kicks ass!! she got 4.5 hours today with wifi on and active the entire time. I can't tell you more about the power, the heaviest duty that thing sees is solitaire

we're divided on the screen, she likes the glossy but i find the glare gives me a headache. different eyes i guess the resolution is nice tho, perfect for the screen size.

I'll second DDDa's compliment on the screens as I have also heard very good things about them. On a personal basis, I find Fujitsus to have good build qualitya and reliability. I agree also that they are nice-looking laptops.

I have an N3510, the screen is absolutely georgeous! (better than even Sony's XBrite in my opinoin; compared mine to a Sony A series). The construction is top notch. No creaks or flexing when you pick it up. Overall quality is very nice. Better in most aspects than my Acer Ferrari (in terms of construction quality and choice of material).

Speaking from someone who obsessess with Dell notebooks I can say nothing but GOOD things about fujitsu. The 2 I owned had minor problems which was fixed locally at an authorized repair center! Friends have gone thru the same problems but praise the level of support and quality they got id say there good bang for buck.

N5010

I own a Fujitsu N5010 ..for almost 1.5yr...the screen is the best you will find on a notebook IMHO

N5010 is DTR..heavy and does get warm as it uses a 3.0ghz P4

AOnly complaint is the firewire port is very finicky..I love this notebook....

I too have the P7010 and I have to say that this notebook is beyond my expectations. The screen is crisp and crystal clear with accurate colours, the max. brightness is just perfect (doesn't get too bright like the Sony XBRITE). My favourite feature of this notebook is the 5+ battery life with wireless ON, the swappable drive bay, and only weighs 3 lbs!
