My laptop (see sig) seams to be working fine but when the laptop is off the screen looks green... when you turn it on it goes to black because the BIOS screen with the HP logo and all that is green... Its really strange & it always happens...

I've not been experiancing any problems other than that and it doesnt really bother me...

The only thing i could think off was its a bad screen...

BTW: This just started happening...

An inverter that wants a vacation? Or you might check the contacts of the screen power cable below the "quick buttons".

Do you have XBRITE?? If you shine a flashlight on a turned off machine the screen looks like that. But take this advice with a grain of salt: if your LCD is SHINEY on the laptop like a mirror finish and I mean shiney!: You need to wax the screen by using pledge sprayed on a SOFT clean cloth. The wax they used may have turned green only for shiney XBRITE screens. Consult HP first!!!!

Yeah, i don't have an X-Brite, but i know what your talking about... When i have more time i will be calling HP, i have a Corporate contact now so they have to connect me with anyone i request. Just haven't had time to call... I will update everyone when i find out more...

But i have a feeling that DomFel is correct. It was something i had thought was possible but i cant open the laptop with out my corp contract being voided. They have special screws on it now so i'm not even sure i could...

That is partially true. Opening up a zv5000 is freakin easy when compared to a zd8000. To change the inverter you will just need to take out two screws on the bottom of the laptop and the 4 screws of the plastic that covers the screen. That's it.
Give a look at the maintenance manual. If you'll need more help, AQSTech should be able to help you out in case you are out of warranty.
