Hi all,
I've got an Aspire 1711 that's giving me fits. I replaced a faulty LCD inverter a while back and my wireless card ceased to work, my firewire's acting up and the computer freezes randomly. The freezes seem to be associated with whenever something happens using the Broadcom Network Adapter. I'm wondering if there was somehow some static discharge that may have fried something having to do with my network adapter. I've taken my wireless card out, but haven't done anything with my modem and I believe the network adapter is part of the Mobo. Is there a way to test those components?
Can anyone confirm this? It's a Northwood P4 2.8ghz/ 865pe. I'm trying to figure out how to trouble shoot this and replace what needs to be replaced. If it is the Mobo, where can I shop for just Mobo's? I don't need a new heatsink too.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
