I have a question about the Itunes software for the Ipod Shuffle 512mb.I don't have it, so this question is in regard to these system specs:
2ghz Amdxp, 512 mb ram (ddr), dvd-rw, 40gig HD, geforce 4400MX 128mb, soundblaster audigy2
Now, this lady has been trying to install ipod shuffle software on her system, but everytime it installs and then restarts, she boots up to a black screen. She can't literally boot back up to windows. Now the question is, are there any known issues with Itunes software messing up Windows in any way? If so, what are the steps to take to fix this issue.
I myself, have tried this thus far.
1.discharged Capcitors.
2. Tried booting to Safe mode.
3. tried booting last known good configuration.
Now I know thats not enough troubleshooting steps at this point I'm at work and I can't do too much with her, because I don't have the time.
I am going to try blowing away the cmos, and then booting to safe mode and do a sytem restore. I was then going to boot to windows and then do a defrag on the system. let it restart, run windows update. Let that finish, then try re-installing the software, but this time download it from Apple's site instead.
I thought maybe it was corrupted software that was causing the issue.
This lady has had her shuffle for like 6 months and hasn't been able to use it because of these issues. ANd she is not up to re-installing windows, because its umm...not ummm legit.
I may suggest she buys a legit copy and be done with it.
And since she is about 8 hours away from me, I can't be the person thats doing any of the troubleshooting in person, this is all over the phone support.
