i just customized XPS .... from the base model ....

n they dont provide me an option to select 80gb @ 7200 rpm

options are

60gb
60gb @ 7200 rpm
80gb
100gb


like wtf? 80 @ 7200 rpm gone too ? ? though i got my xps 2..two weeks back with the 80 @ 7200 rpm hdisk .... but i was just customizing it to chk the current prices n stuff...

If you want the 80gb 7200 drive, you're looking at about a month in extra delay time. They realize that most customers will not be happy with that; therefore, do not offer it.

I had the same question - I've double checked my order details about 6 times to confirm I ordered (and received - but won't get to open it for 2 weeks) the 80gb 7200 drive...

Guess I'm not going crazy, and I did order the 7200 RPM version

Yeah though they were deliberately overcharging for the part to stave off customers from choosing the option they ultimately decided to just remove it until hitachi can fill those orders.
