Turion X700 15.4 wsxga+ (not acer)

I found this on VoodooPC: envy a:538, a turion X700 15.4 wsxga+ laptop.

http://www.voodoopc.com/sellPage.aspx?productID=1084

Can't find a gallery or more pictures of it so I don't have a good quess at who makes it. Says its 1.1 inches thick, very very thin compared to most of the stuff out right now.

Anyone want to take a crack at who's the ODM?

I'll be looking forward to the non-voodoo version. I'd rather get it with a normal less expensive paint job...

You're right, all of voodoo's laptops are painted versions of others like how they offer a painted Asus Z71V. If anyone can identify who makes this and where you can buy the nonpainted version please tell us!

I'm throwing this up because a barebone Turion+X700+wsxga is almost nonexistant and I know a lot of people will want it.

if you go to www.xmeld.com they have an msi 15.4" x700 128 mb turion but it is only wxga
post #5 of 22
looks like the MSI 1039 or something. it comes out in august as well, but is only offered in wxga as far as i've seen. maybe voodoo puts their own better screen in (for a hefty premium, of course)

Wow I think you got it awinged, my hats off to you. I've never heard of Arima... so I guess this would be their debut into the US market possibly as a barebone?

Apologies for the second post, but I just remembered voodoopc is based in canada, so they may have a different range of notebooks than us americans.

Is there a significant difference in performance between the ML and the MT Turions? If theres an article on this, please share.
No performance difference. And yes, it can be had with the MT(25w) Turion 64. Did you even go to the link? You can configure with a CPU ranging from MT-28 to ML-40. I think they have all the choices you need...???

I woner who's going to release this Arima in Europe. And, more important, WHEN!
This can be a good alternative to the MSI m635 (1029) - finally something with a decent screen resolution.

Nice. But too expensive.
$ $ $ $ $

Just configured my dream Voodoo - Only $4200

Sweet, where is that lottery ticket. I just bet it is a winner .....
Crap. They are using the Arima. It's a nice design but that means that most likely no one else will be using the Arima chasis. The only vendors who used an AMD Arima chasis for notebooks before were e-machines/gateway and Voodoo. No one else unless you got the bare bones. And the e-machines/gateway had a lower end videocard.

If the low voltage turions have the same performace as the 35W ones... then whats the point of having the 35W in the first place?

The price.
No, not the price.

All 25W models are a mere $5 more expensive than the 35W models.

The reason... there is none...

Availability. The ML is also available at higher speeds, ML-37 and ML-40. The MT is up to MT-34. MT-37 is listet in some places but out of stock so far. But yes, I would go with MT-34 myself.
