So here's the deal. The power jack was loose on the mainboard due to people tripping over the poewr cable. So we wanted to fix it. Well we took the power jack off of the board, and resoldered it on. Well my dad went to power it on, and it started smoking. Well we took it apart again and found the area to be darkened. There seems to be a burnt component near one of the corners of the power jack which looks like a resistor. Im not sure what this is but I need to know. Do any of you know what this is so i can replace it?
