Henrik-
I just wanna thank you for taking the time to make these sweet apps-
I know the fan controller will rock when you're done with it! (and hopefully it'll work on the 8890 ) anyways here's to you:

ok, on installation there is no readme. so I extracted the file to it's own folder. c:\download\force2go\maxfan, where I tried to run the application error code 2111 (MAX), 2011 (auto), ok I Thought I need to move the dll, place it in the windows system folder, same errors, place it in the windows system32 folder and got code erros of (max) 1111, (auto) 1011.

hope this helps

It doesnt matter where the dll is located at long as windows can find it, I guess its easiest to have them in the same folder. The second sets of error codes indicates you by mistake selected 5670 instead of 5680. When did you download the application? Download and try it again just to be sure that you are testing the latest version please

Downloaded the 14-4-2004 5:40 version and ran it on my 8890. Errorcodes all the way but then again, it does not list the 8890 in first place.

I am curious if you can make this work for the 8890 as well...

You are correct, as long as 8890 isnt listed in the combo box the app doesnt support it. It _should_ work now for the 5680, but the interest in testing and provide me with feedback seems somewhat low. I'm looking in the 8890's keyboard bios right now but it isnt easy to make an app of this kind for a computer you dont have.

hows this, market the program t be sold at future date and take preorders, to be paid through paypal or the like. When you get the money, buy an 8890 and build the prog then give it to only those who paid.

yes I sure did, you may have something installed that I don't.

Thanks for your input, maybe I'll start a paypal account later on, that might be handy to have anyway. I dont however have any hopes on getting rich on this, but maybe it will cover my consumption of swedish nicotine "snus" while coding all nights long. I guess thats why I'm so opposed to selling it, I dont want to think about how much money I really lose when doing stupid hobby projects like this instead of doing real work :-) I'm really doing it for fun and its always fun to learn new stuff.

wait, you needed a keyboard firmware? hhhmm
I did do firmware update but it wasn't for the FN-ctrl key switch it was the fan issue as seen here

Warden, thanks for the feedback. Could you please PM me any icq/msn/whatever contact info so we can communicate to make it work on 5680?

Now the app works for 5680, a big thanks to Warden who helped me test it out! I have also learnt many new things, like how to check the keyboard bios version by software (detect sager model) and how to set the temp trip points, which might be useful sometimes. If I find the time, maybe I include these things in later versions. To put it short, its possibe to tweak absolutely everything.
