Software utility for Sagers! - Page 17

what this does it Runs the fans as fast as they can go. Bypassing the CPU control of the fans so midgame when it gets warm, you don't see a sudden perfomance drop cause the cpu stole a few cycles to spin the fans up.

i have definately not heard the fans this loud, when running games. it speeds them maybe 50 % more than the topspeed of the fans.

I would really like to see the ability to tie maxfan to certain application. Such as when I run EverQuest2 I want my fans to automatically go on max without having to open the application everytime, then stop the fans again when I am done playing. This would be a great feature. Keep up the good work man.

just make a .bat file or something
I read an earlier post that MaxFan can control the fan speeds from 0 through 100 %. The version of MaxFan I have is either 100% or whatever the Sager default is, nothing in between. I was hoping to get the version that is controllable, especially if I can set temperature parameters myself.

Does anyone know where I can get the latest version? Got no version number, but the exe size is 526 kb.

Thanks,

Wesley

What you read was a suggestion or an indication on what's to come, not what's available. As far as I know, the Maxfan you have is the latest (read: "only") 'version'.

Hmmm. I must've mis-interpreted this message from Henrik...

http://notebookforums.com/showthread...ghlight=maxfan...

"Now I have found a way to manually control the fan speed from software. The fan speeds can be varied from 0-100 percent, not only those steps that are in used in the stock firmware. However, some settings are better than others because at some settings the fan makes a chirping sound, which have been discussed in some threads.

There are 2 special applications for a fan-controlling software:
1. Decrease noise pollution, sometimes you accept a higher cpu temperature if the computer is more silent.
2. Full performance, when gaming for hours let the fans run full speed all time.

I can also make it possible for you to design your own cooling, define temperature trip points and fan speeds."

Yeah, he said he found a way. Putting it in a cross-machine capable application that works right out of the box is another thing. On page three of that same thread... "I'm sorry to say, I've been far too busy in my company, it seems like you have to wait at least 1-1,5 week before there will be a beta version" and at no point later in the thread does he release another version. Are there any updates Henrik?

seeing as how i just read a whole bunch of this, i'll give it a *bump* but i dont really think its gonna do any good. if the guy works on it im sure he'll post it, if not mayba i found a hobby that involves going outside (or maybe he found a swedish on that involves staying in wink, wink). if we never se another post from him, i guess we'll know he's done working on it.

ok, see ya around

I confess, I laughed; but then, I've sincerely appreciated Henrik's application immensely even as is (and even contributed a few paltry dollars).

Thank you again for your efforts, Henrik.

No idea what you just said, but nice to see you're still around. Thanks for the awesome apps!

BCloud99, Let's take our discussion in swedish privately, just because this forum is english and it's disturbing for people to read posts in foreign languages. PM me your mail adress and I will respond to you.

hi everybody

I`ve taken a long way to come up here from many other forums. Even from other countries. German -> French -> German -> This :P

I own a Clevo D510P with the newest BIOS Version 1.0.0.10 and I`ve been searching now the whole web for the tools of henrik. But all links are related to his (acutally I only guess it`s his) webspace which doesn`t exist any longer.

My last hope is now that one of you guys still has the tools (MaxFan and BatterySaver) and could send it. I would be very glad of it

Thank you for reading this posting and excuse my english errors :/
