Phases

I ordered my computer on the 13th and they said it would ship on the 18th. I was on Phase 12 now it's back to Phase 9. I have been on Phase 9 since Monday. Is there anyone in general I should talk to to see what is going on?

You can call customer support and ask them. My phase game did not go very well but I can say that in the end it is well worth it.

Yeah you could call.

I ordered my 7500 on 7/5. I've been on phase 9 since around the time you ordered your computer.

My order was supposed to ship today but nothing from AW so far this morning. Some folks on this forum have gotten updates by both email and phone that included useful information about their order but I have not. When I called customer support last week to inquire I was told I was "really" in phase 12. I tried email on the 19th and I was in the "integration" phase. Hard to say where that is, maybe still phase 9? It's a little disconcerting when you've spent almost 6k on a toy.

What did you order?

Having gotten no feedback since last week when I called, I called again a few minutes ago. Spoke with a nice lady who said her name was Nicole. She says my computer went to phase 12 then back to phase 9. I specifically asked if something was backordered and was told that "something probably didn't work right or was not compatible" and more could be learned later today.

Maybe I'll have time to check back with her later today, maybe not. I asked but she declined to send me an update email herself.

I don't mind waiting for AW to check things out. I'd prefer not to find out about a problem after I've got the machine. From my searches on AW "problems," and "support" using good old Google it would appear some folks have had problems that got by that so-called "integration" and "testing" phase.

They told me they encountered a small problem and it should be sent out next week. I was told over the phone it would be today or Friday. I don't see how a "minor" error would delay 2 or more days.

Ours is not to reason why....... Apparently.

As far as the time factor is concerned I don't they two days is out of line. It took me over a month once to figure out a BIOS error on an ABIT board. One of the reasons I bought this system from AW was in the hope of avoidance of such. Positive reports from this forum were a large factor. I am hoping AW quality control will successfully poop out a box that screams without any headaches on my part.

Once again. What did you order?

It looks like you got the Area-51 ALX SLI, 14adams. I'm on the other side of the fence with an AMD Aurora ALX SLI. Your configuration is essentially the exact same as mine except for the fact that you're running the Intel dual-core solution, while I'm running the AMD one (plus your sound is integrated, but that's not a horrible difference). I'd be curious to see how our computers compare when we both recieve them. What's the delivery date on yours supposed to be?

EDIT: Never mind, I accidently skipped over the name of your computer and see that you're getting the 7500. Nevertheless, I'd like to see how they compare.

Yes I'm a Pentium kinda guy although I expect this CPU will run pretty hot it will not be liquid cooled. It is an Area-51 7500. It would have cost me around $700 more for the ALX with the same options and I'm banking on it not being a necessary expense. I didn't order a sound card because I already have a SB Audigy 2ZS. I'll also add another hard disk with all my backup info on it when it comes. Sure we can keep in touch and compare. I plan to use this forum for information and support after my new box arrives.

Package data transmitted to FedEx

The projected delivery date from FedEx is 7/29 which seems a little long and they don't deliver here on weekend days so could be delayed until 8/1.

I'll let you guys know when it arrives hopefully intact and functional.
