Wireless Access?

Has anybody used this to connect to a wireless network if so how did it work and what kind of equipent where you connected through and what kind of throughput did you get. I have a cable internet access that is pretty quick and I want to set up a wireless network. Just wondering what kinds of configurations work well with this laptop with the built in wireless card.

Its all standard wifi. You'll get about the same speed as standard 10mbit ethernet (with 802.11b anyway).

For acessing the net, 802.11b is just fine, since it is much faster than a standard residential DSL/Cable connection is at present (unless you have OOL).

I was alsowondering if anybody knows who makes the WiFi card that goes in these things or if it is just a generic card.

Well the best routers and APs are made by Cisco (the Aeronet series).

Have the wireless issues been resolved yet, as I should be receiving my lappy next week and have the a/b/g card in there. I'm just trying to get prepaired for any problems I might have and get a jump start on fixing them. Thanks for the help in advance

Second that! If you have the cash go with CISCO no better appliance on the market!

I would like to say that they have been fixed, but as soon as I do that someone will get one that's not, lol. Right now I'm using the wireless about 50 feet from the router, on a different level of the house, through walls and doors, and it seems to be strong. The router is a cheap 35 dollar linksys wireless router a + b. I also don't have any speaker interference at all. As far as I'm concerned it works perfectly.

Did you have to disable Windows XP from automatically finding your WiFi signal
