So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review
by Djembe
One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
I believe the laptop you're looking for is the Aspire 5500... I'm not sure of any specific resellers, but Acers are typically available from all major resellers.
Yeah I am looking at this one, or the 4400 series which is about 2 lbs heavier but packs a larger screen 15.4" and a 1.6 ghz Turion, and a 100 GB 5400 RPM drive, and X700 for a bargin price, less than $1300.
I think up to now it is only available in Europe. I planned to buy it in the US because there notebooks mostly are cheaper than over here, but I didn't find that model or an comparable from Acer.
I love the Acer Travelmate 3200 series. I only hope that they will have something like the Acer Travelmate 3200 series in the next generation of mobile GPU wars. The Acer travelmate combines 4.5 pound weight with a 14 inch screen and a killer GPU. Almost makes me want to take back my 8100 series.
The whole 3210 introduction is a big snafu, I was initiallly told that a shipment was heading for North America on the second week of June, looks like they all ended up in Canada and it's the one with intergrated graphics anyway. No idea when the ones with X700 will show up in North America if at all since Acer America's site still don't have it listed. The only option now is to get one from Europe or Asia.
The Aspire 5500 also is one. It has a widescreen glossy 14.1", 64mb X700. And runs very hot... It may not be available everywhere. The one I saw was in Taiwan running for US $1100 with a Pentium M 740 and 2x 256 DDR2 running in dual channel. I was not crazy about the look.
