best usb 5.1 headphones or stereo-phones w/ emulation software

i just sold my audigy 2 zs notebook card because i needed the cash and i almost keep breaking it off since it juts out of the lappy a bit, so now i need a surround sound solution in headphone form. i need it so i dont wake up my roommate at night etc. i was wondering what were the best usb 5.1 headphones i could buy with 50~$, or if there was a decoder + stereo phone solution i could use that would sound better at that price (prob unlikely). maybe software emulation + stereo phones is the best bet? i dont know. i have a 9300, now with nothing but onboard sound so keep that in mind. 50~$ish people!

Well, have you checked the specs of the onboard sound chipset? As some onboard chipsets only support 2.0 and some support 5.1. If your onboard sound only supports 2.0 then I think getting a 5.1 USB headset would be waste.

Do you know Tritton has a USB 5.1 headset with literally 4 'speakers' on each headphone to emulate 5.1 surround?

It's pretty stunning if u ask me.

^^night stalker, thats why im asking for USB 5.1's, usb headphones have drivers in the headphones themselves to decode the sound into 5.1, bypassing the onboard sound.

Buy them. Forget about ever needing a soundcard.
there a bit pricey but they look like they could be the next best thing anyways check out the site and you decide
