Now the most important question for me any way. What games have been tried out on this thing and which ones seem to preform the best. I am a big fan of fps's and rts's and just wonder what your experiences have benn running games on this machine are there any that just wont work or will it run pretty much anything flat out. It is DX9 compatible so I figre it will be albe to run halflife 2 when it comes out. Im sure my counter strike will run well since it runs well on the old 800mzh. I realy want a machine that will run the big 3 Halflife 2, Doom3, and UT2K4. If you have had any bad experiences running games on this thing let me know.

depends on the video card really. anything Open GL will run better on the NVIDIA card, most of the new DX9 cards on the ATI. Doom III might run better on the NVIDIA, not sure yet. I can play Wolf ET at 16k x 12k on the nvidia, Halo at 800 x 600 with everything on but the AA and FSAA. JKJA at 1280 x 1024.

the 9600 is going to be safer for most current and upcoming games using DX 9.0. NVidia will be better for Open GL. If you go do some research you'll see the ATI ahead of most benches. One main problem is that DX 9 was made around the ATI card and is not so friendly for the NV 3x chip series. With the release of newer drivers and a new DX we might see the NVIDIA cards perfore better than they do, but not necisarily better than ATI.
In the end you'll be just fine with the ATI card. And the beauty of the computer we got is we can always change out the video card if something better comes along.
