I know this is all still speculation, but ...
I literally decided to buy a 12-inch ibook last night and placed my order through the education website ... when my friend told me she'd seen news of an ibook update online! After researching the rumors, I couldn't reach customer support at night, so simply canceled my order online an hour or two later. I guess I can wait a week for an ibook.
It sounds like the prices are going down, not up -- any speculations on how the price might change if there is a refresh? (I'm afraid of paying more for a comparable computer -- the base model w/768MB RAM and 3-year warranty.) Also, might resellers such as Amazon and MacMall sell the older 12-inch ibooks for a discount? I'm wondering how heavy the widescreen model will be -- if indeed that is the update.
