z70va or z70v? - Page 3

$50? It will be more around $150...

You are asking about the Z70V vs. Z70Va, right?
We will not release pricing until we have an idea on the cost of the barebone units from Asus. Asus has not released pricing, detailed specs, or specific release dates yet. All info is premature at this point.
Absolutely. Ths pricing above is just an estimate from ASUS N.A., the same source for the August ETA...

c9tech, you should talk to ASUS N.A again, it seems like your prices will be about $100 more than those from www.istnc.com their price is $76 more than the Asus Z70v. If yours will be $150, thats more than double the price difference...
c9tech's $150 is just a guess as asus hasnt even released pricing details on the z70va. of course when the z70va comes out and is more than $76 over the z70v the people who preordered from istnc will be getting a heck of a deal.

Well Justin at ProPortable originally said that the refresh would be about $200 more. ISTNC screwed themselves by only listing it at $50 more, because then the M6 refresh came out a while back it was $50 more. Well that was basically a bios/rom update, same card. On the Z70V refresh, it an entirely different card and with bluetooth. They were selling themselves short for jumping the gun, but im sure they'll make up on their components. Well they've now started increasing their price up to $75 and now $76, maybe even higher. I may just buy the barebone alone from them, since it's such a good deal at the moment.

Well I don't think they screwed themselves... I just think they will be taking less profit from it then other resellers ("screwing" (for lack of a better word) the customer less).
Well it's out of context, but yeah, it would be forsee-able that they will continue to increase it since the rumours are about $200 higher. So buy now!

Maybe ISTNC should talk to Asus. Rick is just guessing at prices (and specifications and release date) at this point because Asus has not yet released anything final on any of those three topics.

Trying to guess at pricing is very risky.

Donald, perhaps it is you that needs to talk to ASUS. We have it in print what the increase is. Quite frankly, I think its time that all resellers start producing facts instead of speculations and rumor. Use the Forum mods as the recipients of these "facts"
MadMike, we havent increased the pricing of the refresh model since it was posted.
Of what benefit would it be to us to lose $200.00 per notebook? Come on, creativity seems to be lacking

Rick is talking to Asus, as I'd assume all Asus resellers do. He is not stupid or overly ignorant, either. There is NO NEED for the implications that ISTNC is a company that doesn't know what it's doing. This is insulting to the company and pointless unless you can provide proof that backs up your claims. The way to determine the truth is to WAIT AND SEE. Within two months you will know all the accurate information. I will emphasize for the last time in this or any thread dealing with the Z70va that this thread IS NOT ABOUT IST!!! It is about the decision to either get the Z70v or to get the Z70va. Please keep your comments on topic or the thread will be closed. Thank you.

**These comments are not made towards Donald alone. There are several posters who repeatedly bring up this issue. It has been dealt with in previous threads and will not be tolerated**

Hey that's what Justin at ProPortable stated. I didn't make it up and I don't live and die by his words either. I'd wait until it's actually out and then I'll purchase from the cheapest vendor... after reading other reviews of it, of course. But Hey, I was promoting you guys, I said to buy it now... that is, if the $200 more or $150 more was true. You guys have it at a pretty low price. (there, that's an advertisement)

Edit: As for ISTNC's Pre-Order-- I even said on a various posts that I would do the exact same thing.
Quite frankly, I dont care what Justin says or Eddie says, and what they have to say is pointless unless they can back up their comments. The same goes for the rest of the resellers that Post in these Forums. BACK UP your game or quietly retreat to your corner.

Rick

Hold on there. My reply was to Artek's post. I realize now that I should have quoted it like I have now done here.

I think everyone should wake up and listen to the SEVERAL seasoned resellers who have posted here saying repeatedly that the final specifications, pricing and release date have not yet been released by Asus...Period.

If Rick has pricing in writing, let him produce it.

i'm with whoever comes up with the most positive news
$75 more? easily better than $200.
whoever stands up and says this ships tomorrow will get my respect.
