dmnit! last night at like 2 am this deal was still good, when I wakup its not.. I was going to order this and save myself 1000 dollars... This sucks now if I order it I would be saving 500 from the time i ordered it, because there wasnt the instant 20 percent off. I wonder if I should do that?

Alas, it looks like this has expired. I find it hard to believe that 4000 people already used this coupon code but OK. Again I am punished for being on a summer internship and not having the internet in my temporary apartment.

Dam!

Dell was offering my company's 12% EPP along with their $750 deal this last weekend. Had I bought I would have saved about $1100 on the XPS Gen2 I was eying. Not to shabby. I'm going to wait till August/September though.

ordered mine yesterday morning... dell sent me an email asking me to call them regarding my order and they cant complete my order without speaking to them? I've actually been on hold for about 30 minutes and i think ill just try back later.... should i be worried if they're gunna ask me about the coupon or are they gunna ask me something regarding my credit card or something?

Most likely about your credit card or something else to deal with the sale. Or, maybe they do want to know about the 40% but I say it's about your credit card.

Is the shipping address different than the address you have on your Credit Card? Usually companies would need verification from your credit card company with the shipping address to prevent fraud. If your shipping address is different, you would need to contact your credit card company and add a shipping address on there.

I got my XPS 2 last week with the 35% coupon and called dell up today about the 40% coupon and they credited my credit card the other 5% with came to $170.00 <sweet>

I order mine last week and I got it with an EPP of 24% + an additional $400 off from price. This came to take $1080 from my price. When I call dell the representative told me that I could not do the $750 off coupon that was going on at that time and my EPP 24% off. My question is this, Would they adjust my account in any way if I call and tell them about the 40% off or would they say same thing because it was purchase via EPP ?

You did EPP, nothing would happen

The first order I had placed was also throught the EPP with a 24% for choosing the 3 year warranty. Plus an additional $200 of which came to about $800 off.

With the 40% off I saved almost $1100 for a better system (no bluetooth since they took that 2915/tooth combo away) but it was a better processor and a 1 year warranty.

I called Dell yesterday so they could recall the 1st system I ordered since it shipped on Friday. She offered me $350 to keep it for a family member or somebody I knew. She explained that was the maximum concession as it benefits Dell for you to keep it since they are taking a loss if you return it. Doing the math I figured the price would come out to about the same price on both but the second system had a better processor. I respectfully declined even though I did think about it for about 10 long seconds.

I'm about to order an XPS Gen2, using the coupon, but I have one question I need answered first.

How does the RAM that comes with the XPS Gen2 compare to Corsair RAM?

The reason I ask is because I have seen a large number of posts saying to get the minimum amount of RAM from Dell and then buy 2GB from Corsair as it's cheaper and better. But with the 40% off coupon getting the laptop with 2GB installed only adds $312 to the price, while the Corsair RAM (which is currently $305 delivered for 2GB.)

If it performs significantly better it could be worth it isn't just to save the $7.

Also what is everyone's opinion on the longer warranty? I had planned on the 4 year but mainly because of the CompleteCare coverage but I just noticed that Completecare is not available in NY. Well with that being the case I was thinking about going with only the 2 year warranty. Anyone have any thoughts and/or opinions on this?

I got my 9300 last week using a $750.00 off coupon, and then got another $100.00 off at the Dell Direct store at the mall when I ordered it. When I saw this thread a few days ago I tried this coupon against my configuration at Dell.com and it worked. So, I called Dell and complained and got another $200.00 off, which instead of taking a refund....I got a MS Corp. Wireless Optical Desktop Elite keyboard and mouse and a Netgear WGT624 108Mbps Wireless Firewall Router with next day shipping. I'm real happy

Why do people get Bluetooth?

Is it only for a wireless Bluetooth mouse?

Is it good for any other practical purposes or should I save the $31?.........

i see everyone buying up now cause of the 40% discount, what harddrives are you guys getting, is it the ones that are the 7200 rpm, cause if not, are you planning to upgrade or overclock, cause from what ive been told, if you cant get the 100g 7200 rpm, then its really not worth it. just wondering what you guys think.

I ordered my system on the 20th as my sig says and I call dell to find out what they can do since the 40% off coupon floating around would be $170.14 off compare to when I ordered it. They just shipped my Laptop today to my surprise since the system was schedule to ship on the 29th. So the first lasy on customer services wanted to give me $75 adjustment, I was like "heck no" that is not even 1/2 the diference, I told you is $170.14 the diference and she said that is all she was allowed to do. So I told her okay get me with returns I guess I would have to return this order, since laptop shipped today I cannot cancel it, and order with current coupon online. She got me with returns and the other girl was more understandable and knew that I can just refuse delivery and I would not have to pay for return shipping since I never got posession of the item. She heard me tell her that I had no problem with returning it since I was not expecting a laptop till 08/05/2005 as it said on my order. She then tells me that she can give me $150 back to my EPA account so that I do not have to go through the trouble and keep the original one that was shipped to me.
I said thanks and end of conversation. This is what happens when you get the representatives on the line to understand that they are not doing anybody a favor, it is an adjustment that anyone of us is entitle to regardless of how you pay as long as is within allowable timeframe.
Props to Dell Personnel for making this purchase right.
Now my notebook will cost me about $2313 ship to my door. Not best deal but good enough for me with complete care warranty for 4 years.
Hope everybody is willing to get on the cell phone and call dell for 45 minutes to get this results or better, no reason why you shouldn't.
Thank Guys for looking out with the 40% off. Save me another $150 even when I didn't use it.
