System Shut Down

I have a MSI 510C megabook which is less than a year old. Occaisionally my notebook will all of a sudden completely turn off (usually when down loading music, or playing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War). Any idea what is causing this to happen? Up until this month my notebook hasn't been acting up.

heat? try cleaning the fans

My 510c has been doing this, too! It just dies to black screen at any time for no apparent reason. It did it the other day during a business presentation. That sucked! I believe it is a flaw in the model design or something. I had this problem last year and the folks at MSI took it in twice but could not replicate or fix the problem. They claimed to replace the mb at one point. Then the good folks at xmeld swapped out the entire barebones unit for me, but I'm still having the problem. I changed hdds, too, but still the same problem. I don't think it's a matter of cleaning the fans. It has gone dead even when I was first installng Windows fresh out of the box. Has anyone else with 510c/1003 had a similar problem? I'm getting ready to send it back to xmeld again, but without knowing the problem, I'm considering a change, possibly to the 510's replacement: the 1016. Anyone know anything about it?
Thanks!

That really sounds like a temperature issue. Why don't you install a temperature monitoring program and just watch to see where things are?

If its running cool and shuts down, that would indicate a bad power supply diode/capacitor/circuitry at the worst end of the spectrum, bad memory at the best case spectrum.

yeah... it usually occurs when the computer is hot (gaming/dling files)... however it has happened to me once or twice just browsing the web (not running any other programs).

where can i download a temperature monitering program?

PC Alert 4 looks like a temperature monitoring program.

I'm thinking about getting a MSI MS-1003 but I'm not so sure now if it only lasts a year without problems.
