Thread Starter
Hi everyone.

so when on adjusts the volume or screen intensity via the keyboard, does a little bar come up on the screen to reflect the aformentioned changes?

Probably a stupid question, but...
I have a 9300 and I don't have the bars either--I turned them off via Quickset. I could conversely turn on on-screen bars for volume and brightness...
I don't know enough about the 700: does it have Quickset as well?
there are no bars for screen brightness or sound volume on the 700m

the 700m doesnt support quickset, but i have a volume osd on mine, there's a thread on this board somewhere that shows how to get it

After I bought an external usb keyboard for my 700m, I installed the driver that came with it and I do get an osd for volume. It was a microsoft intellitype pro, you might be able to find the driver program on their website.

you can get the volume bars by downloading a widget for it...

but then with widgets you need more software.. the whole microsoft software deal seems like a better option

yup, i just dload the microsof driver for internet keyboard and it works. just wish something similar for the brightness now

Can you elaborate on this?
well, just dload the driver for intellitype pro:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

and during installation, choose internet keyboard. when done, just try using the fn key, the volume should be there near the right end corner of the screen.

owh and btw, i just purchased a Logitech mediaplay mouse and install its driver. there are buttons for controlling the volume on the mouse and it works to change the volume and even with on screen volume bar.
Yup any keyboard/mouse that can adjust the volume will add on screen controls whenever you adjust the volume. So logitech, microsoft, whatever one you like.
