I was configuring different notebooks at HPs site and I realized that there is no tax on the home systems, but there is tax on the business ones. I'm assuming that the consumer line is assembled and shipped from another state (I'm in North Carolina) while the business computers are shipped from this state.
What I'm getting at is this: Is it possible to have HP build/ship the notebook from another state if I do choose to order a business laptop, thus avoiding the tax? Or is this against the law? Any information on the matter is appreciated.
