when will pctorque drop its prices, and by how much?
tlo, 1.6 will no longer be on the market because 2.26 is out, so every speed will drop one level down.

I guess we can expect more price cuts (dumping?) from Intel later this year:

The research firm also warned that "we are somewhat concerned that we could see oversupply of processors late this year as inventory has been building concurrent with industry processor shipments above the end-market shipments in the first half of 2005 with additional capacity being added each quarter."

yup

On one hand I kind of wished I had waited to buy my laptop now, but on the other hand I don't think price drops on processors would have affected the price of laptops that were already in stores, would of it ?
Simmonz, Rick from istnc.com gives either a free upgrade to the next CPU speed (ex. from 1.86 to 2ghz) or gives you the price diference back
post #14 of 18
sorry for this question but, does this effect notebooks like, at circuit city and best buy etc..? all notebooks?
I don't think the price cuts would have an immediate effect on most notebook prices. Maybe when they start building their notebooks with the new batch of processors, the savings will get passed down to us.

So what is the current price of 2.0 and 1.86 ghz Pentium M?

I want to double check when I make an order that the processor cost has been adjusted.
