5660 Sxga+? - Page 2

There is NO option for SXGA+ in UT2k3. There is SXGA and there is UXGA. :-) I just checked. I forgot I had it installed on my lappy, lol.

wait if your laptop a SXGA 8886 only has upto SXGA it wouldn't tell you about SXGA+ and also UXGA???
no the lappy wouldnt, but UK2003 would tell you. Games usually give all the possible settings, even if they exceed the computers max.

ah well. I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to play many games at SXGA+ as game coders only see the SXGA and the UXGA not the plus. dunno why they use SXGA, i don't like the aspect ratio, aspect ratio of SXGA+ is way better, same with UXGA with is the same as SXGA+.

Any of you out there with a 5660 who have UT2k3, what settings do you use, and what settings would you use to get the best eyecandy out of a 30-40 fps?

You are right, SXGA has a rather strange ratio. It doesn't fit in the VGA - SVGA - XGA - UXGA chain. However, I have seen some applications supporting an alternative to it, 1280x960, which keeps the desired ratio.

Cheers.
