yeah yang... close one but i am glad you are alright, way to go in saving the AW. you were really close to that fire, like damn man. still glad you are okay.

Glad you and your rig made it out ok(specially you ). It was a great thing also that you helped your neighbors first before anything else.

I recently bought insurance for my home and although it was kind a of a hefty price tag and God forbid I need to make use of it I feel that it is better to play it safe and not take any chances.

Be safe out there and we look forward to seeing you again around here.

I'm also glad to hear you didn't suffer any physical damage, though after waking up to a fire like that I'm sure you'll not sleep easy for a while.

You never truly know what people go through with something like this until you experience it yourself. Hope everything gets taken care of and there was no loss of life.

thanks everyone for the support...it does brighten up my day...ok enough of the gayness

update: it turns out that the building is still un-open to the residence...the fire marshall is afraid that the saturation may cause the roof to cave in...there were even rumors that my building maybe comdemned...

@ this point I don't know if my alienware is ok or my tv...and the other belongings

the electricity has been turned off, so now all the food i have in my fridge is now spoiled

I'm fortunate that there were no injuries and that I came out safe...but this has to be the suckiest thing that has happenned to me yet...unless DB wants to attack me w/ a Hoover dirt devil

oh n I miss the shed very much...i'm sure the rest of you guys don't miss my awp though =P...but when I come back, i'm going to have to get ir re-calibrated as it probably has sustained water damage as well

Does anyone know if they let people in for their personal belongings if the building is condemned ?
If not, you can bet your sweet as_ , i hope DB doesn't see this, that I'd be in there in the middle of the night collecting my AWs.

so far they have tarped the roof (it's supposed to rain this week...so further leaks will not happen), pad lock all the doors, cover the windows w/ boards, and have 24hr. security watching all the entrances

as far as I know, my part of the building still has the roof in tact, but I don't know how bad the saturation will be

I know there is no electricity, so all the food in my fridge is going to spoil, I'm glad I moved my AW to a closet, but I don't know how safe that would be if the roof were to leak

for the mean time, here are some pictures of the outside when I went to see if I could get back into the building.

It's good to hear that your ok and nobody was seriously hurt. About 6 or 7 months ago here in Corpus Christi were I live, on Ocean Drive there was a terrible fire that completely burned down a home. We were good friends of the family and unfortunately the Father who went back into the house full of flames looking for is twelve year old son never came out. Father and son died. As for the Mom and sister they were upstairs and the only way out was jumping out the window. The sister jumped out and survived. The mom jumped out fell wrong and died due to a neck injury. Obviously the home was was engulfed in flames in just a matter of minutes. Very sad situation. Father was a very good Doctor here in Corpus.
Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon.
