I had to set up my boss's S460 for him (not the most knowledgeable computer user) and I thought the screen was pretty disappointing, all washed out and not particularly bright. Even my boss thought it was bad compared to his other Vaio with XBRITE. I haven't seen the W3V screen in person though...

Cmon man, it's an Asus forum, what do you think people here are gonna say?

But in all honesty, the W3V is a much better notebook than the Sony, and I think almost anyone could agree with that. Only problem is the price of the W3V, you can get the Sony for much cheaper.

But you get what you pay for. The W3V's video card is far superior to the Sony's, it has a bigger screen, better build quality, more features, better tech support from resellers, and a full 2 year warranty from Asus. It's faster, more powerful, more stylish and sexy, and still light enough to carry around anywhere you want to take it.

The W3V is the king of the 13.3" to 14" notebooks, no doubt about it. And the price has recently been cut by $100 or $150 by Asus, which reduces the only real drawback to the laptop, it's price.

I would definitely switch to it, and if you don't need dedicated graphics, get the Z63A instead and save yourself some money.

Would you choose your refresh over the W3V, Striker? My only beef with the Z70va is the relatively boring design and low battery life (around 2:45 or something, right?). I dunno, what's your take on the W3V vs. the Z70 refresh?

Boring design? No way! The Z70v(a) is one of the classiest and best looking laptops I have ever seen. Heck, I'd use mine as the centerpiece at a nice dinner party....mine also gets well over 3 hours on a charge...probably over 4 if I undervolt...

I don't mean to offend... I just thought the days of the monotone black laptop were over.
