Msi-1032

Does anyone have any reviews about the MSI-1032. I am concerned about build quality and heat issues.
Since everyone here has mostly good experiences with Z71v, I wonder if anyone can say the same about this model.

Here's the link to the model:

thanks in advance.

No. I orderd one but wont ship till end of july. I put up a review when it comes in.

Just a note before you order. A X700 based notebook will have better performance.

I realise that. But I work most of the time in Linux - I would prefer to have very good support in Linux.
I can live with it, if it is not bleeding edge. As I understand, it can play Doom 3 in a high enough setting.

More bad news. The notebook will not ship this month. MSI still has not released it yet and I have set MSI a email to find out when they will release it.

This is not Xmeld fault but MSI is to blame for the delay.

the 1032 is out, it's the 1029 that isn't out yet.

the 1032 is the Pentium version, the 1029 is the Turion.

I doubt you'll see a huge hit in performance between the 1029 and the 1032... most of the comparisons between the two use the go6600 in the Z71V which is a pretty poor example of the go6600 since its underclocked for better battery life, noise, and heat.

Many toshibas with the go 6600 sport higher 3dmark scores and are much more comparable to the acer X700s.

Yep... the MSI MS-1032 is out, bought mine a few days ago.

I have the box sitting in my study, got mine from chumbo.com.

How does MSI's version of the nVidia go6600 perform compared to the other laptop brands?

I was wondering, did you MS-1032 come with a remote control and the instant-on software? I just got mine and there was no remote or software, so i was curious if you had the same thing happen.

I am still waiting on some parts, and then I'll probably post a quick review before I leave for the weekend.

I had a quick look inside the box, and at the barebones laptop, I did not see a remote control, took a look at the CD, I did not see the instant-on software on the CD, I have not built the laptop yet, so the driver CD has not been used yet.

that sounds like what came with mine... just the laptop, misc internal stuff, and drivers. I am going to try to find out today if it's supposed to come with the remote and instant-on software.
