Pros:
+ small compact size
+ good built (feels firm)
+ no wheels, so your vertical scrolling will not either get smoothed, harden over time, clicky, like most traditional mice.
+ nice artificial "clicking" when scrolling
+ customizable button with logitech's drivers (i set the left/right to back/forward for ease browsing)
+ easy tucked away USB receiver
+ different, people will say WOW, awesome scroll panel
+ great sensors for a notebook mouse
+ battery circuit is in "parallel", you can have either one or two AAA batteries in your mouse and it'll still work.
+ long battery life
+ manual "battery" saving feature (this is when you transform your mice to get that 5* tilt)
Cons:
- Scroll panel is too sensitive (relates to the third cons point)!!!
- Scrolling is not conventional, I actually MUCH prefer a wheel
- Scroll panel are just electronic buttons. Sort of like a touch screen, whilst it does detech vertical/horizontal movement of your finger, if you leave your fingers, let say in the down position, it'll keep clicking and scrolling down until you lift your finger. (ANNOYING!!) -- if logitech ONLY implemented the motion detection on the scroll panel then that'll be fantastic, I'll stick with this mouse with no second thoughts, but they didn't
- Optical sensor seems somewhat buggy on smooth surface. I tried this on a "normal" surfaced desk, and it sometimes stalls. I also tried this on the high performance fUnc industry 1030 mouse pad and it's okay but still stalls once in a while. (does works on carpets, my lap, quite well)
- no middle mouse button
I'm going to go on a notebook mouse shopping later on (when i get my dell I700m) and see if microsoft's notebook mouse is better. (or I might be getting one for free). I tried MS' desktop wireless optical mouse, and I liked it alot (but not as much as the MX510), if the notebook version of that is the same, I might be all over that one instead.
Hope my pros and cons are helpful.

thanks dog that helps. Ya most of the cons you listed, ive read about in other reviews on amazon, etc. People saying the scrolling is too sensitive and quite hard to use, especially if u want to access long pages quickly, its not the easiest to do it with that mouse. i guess its more about looks than functionality. I hate how the wheels on the mice are so loud and clicky, its just annoying I guess especially late at nights. Personally, its just a mouse, I like something nice, but it doesnt have to be made of gold (v500), i could care less about turning heads haha. $25 probably makes it worth it ya, but I doubt you would pay the $70cdn it is right now. I do like how its able to run off 1AAA battery, allowing for the lightest weight possible. I just think the mouse feels akward in the hand, too squarish and not very ergonomic. Alot of people have cramps after 30mins, and what good is it getting a mouse for that much money when you have to take more breaks than a normal mouse.
its wierd because it has a 1000dpi lens and yet its not as sharp/accurate as the standard 800dpi mice.
so all in all, i guess its safe to say this mouse is all about looks and not too much beyond that.
BTW - the mic. notebook mouse i have now, but its got the worst wheel ever. So loose and loud!
