i'm starting school in about a month and i have to carrying my laptop to school everyday and i don't like the carry-on bags because they hurt my shoulder after carrying it for a long time. so does anybody know which backpack would be good for carrying my i9300 and some school books?

There is a thread right on this page about it.

Kensington Contour Backpack.

I ordered the 'revised' xps backack being that its probably the smallest out there. Maybe not the best for school depending on how many books you carry or that it might draw some attention...but its a great bag.

Go with the Countour! It doesn't look huge at all, but easily fits 2 large textbooks and a small book, as well as a notebook or 2 and all my laptop crap.

I got the Action II Rolling backpack. It's perfect for an airplane (can hold several changes of clothes for when they lose your other luggage) and has wheels. Might be kinda big if you plan on using it as a backpack though. It's very solid with tons of pouches and storage things and the biggest thing is it doesn't appear to hold a laptop at all..

The Contour does look nice but i don't like the look of the pouches or whatever it is on the sides of the bag. What about the Targus TXL617 17" XL Notebook Backpack? Does anybody know if that one's any good for about a couple of books and a laptop?

Try searching there's an entire thread dedicated to the TXL617 and using it with the 9300...

The Targus XL will easily hold a 9300, a week's worth of clothes, two-thirds of the books in the Library of Congress, and enough food to survive armageddon.

Seriously, it's a great backpack and I really like it.

HAHAHA, Yeah I thought the Targus seemed a little TOO big.

It is really big, but it has lots of pockets and partitions, so it's easy to organize stuff.

I too have the targus backpack. It's a monster but I really don't feel that it is too big. I'm a pretty big guy though. I don't think it would have ANY problems holding several large textbooks and the associated supplies. Very comfy backpack. Seems to be built like the tank it is. Went to Chicago and back with it recently. Lots of pouches for things (almost too many, kept thinking I had lost the car key.)

If I had to buy again I would buy the Targus again. Excellent product that will hold pretty much anything you ask it to while keeping your lappy secure and safe.

I too have the targus and love it. You could easily fit a few large textbooks in it. IF you have a local Best Buy you might find one in there to look at.

I have a brand new targus, never used, too big for me

I went all out and got the Booq Boa.XL 06 model. It is 160 dollars and they are on back order until August. So lucky because I got one of the last ones.
