Looking to buy either the Asus preconfigured W3V, ar a custom built based on the same model without the x600 vid cards (used only for Photoshop, no gaming).

The customs would be warrenteed by the vendors. I searched here, but couldn't find much on opinions as to warrenty reliability of these sellers.

Any advice and experience is welcome.

Thanks

Jeff

You can check out this thread. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=21158
In my opinion, I think Geared2Play has the better pricing than the other two. They also have a bunch of discounts that can also be combined. I got my Z70v from them and I got excellent service. They're great on support also (through phone, email, etc.), heck they even have their own forum! But price was the major factor here, and it may be the most important factor for a lot of people on these forums. The service and support was just an added bonus.

yup, check out Reseller Ratings. You could also read several threads around the forums to gauge people's experiences with different resellers.

Ive ordered from gear2play they are awsome and have probably the best costumer service ive ever seen. it would be sat night at 11pm u write them an email and no lie ive gotten a responce within an hour. during the work day you will get a responce in less than a half hour. they have a good return policy also. i cant recommend them enough. and they have a great reseller rating.

Heck I called Geared2Play (twice) at midnight, their time. I was expecting to maybe get an answering machine or something. But I still got excellent service.

OK, I'm OK with geared2play. Now...I've never bought what they call a "whitebook". If I need warrenty do they do all the work, or do I have to be the one to deal with seperate warrentees for the HD, screen, processor, dvd drive, etc?

I read that they cover what the manufacturers of the components don't. Do they do the dealings with them or do I have to?

You can just go directly to them and not to the manufacturer of individual components. That is, if you bought it from them. If you've got specific questions you can just email them or go on their forum. You'll get an answer probably within minutes.
