No, I just updated to the 77.76 drivers, took out some crap I didn't want like Quickbooks and McAfee. I had AVG and ZA on the whole time. My CPU tests sucked, and I got like 1.8 and 3.5 fps on them. I don't know why. I think it may be memory related. I think I took off like two startup items that I don't need (DVD thing and msmsgs or something like that). And damn I like this keyboard, I can type really fast on it.

Edit: I also did not overclock the card. I left that feature completely alone. I may rerun the test with the Autooverclock on. Yeah, I think I will do that now.

Grr it just failed to complete two runs on 3dmark05 I dunno what is wrong.

Where did you download the drivers from...?

I was thinking of going with Omegas.

How's your screen? I have basically no sparkles but some light leakage. Its noticable on start up on black screens and a bit at the bottom in movies. I think I'm cool with it though. Its basically impossible to get one without, at least a little. I also can't seem to figure out if I have dark bands...I can't seem to tell if thats just the way I view it or if its really darker on the edges...

And what are the movie screen settings...I still don't get it.

Mine screen is great, I thought I noticed two dead pixels (they were white so maybe stuck) during 3dmark05 but I did another test and there are no dead or stuck pixels at all. I have light leakage too, but that is common with Samsungs. Is that what you have? Thanks for digging up the Samsung setting thread. She looks beautiful. One thing I am not happy about is sound. Mine sort of rattles, so it might just be the speaker vibrating or something or the tiny speakers can't handle acoustic singing songs. I will open it up once I get the memory to take a look.

I went to www.laptopvideo2go.com

You download the drivers, then copy the modded inf into notepad and save as nv4_disp.inf, then extract the drivers somewhere (I made a folder called Graphics Drivers in My Documents and made another folder called 7776). I extracted them there, then I copied the original INF and put that in another subdirectory (in case I need it), then replaced the original INF with the modded one that I saved (to the desktop or whereever). There is a guide on the site under Instructions. You're going to need DivX to see the video though.

I got:
NEC dvd burner
Samsung LCD
Hitachi Hard Drive!

I'll put the new drivers in on Thursday after I get back from the beach and have run memtest for a day...

You just asked about free antivirus, right? I can't find that anywhere...I know we were just talking about it...its all free trials isn't it? I need to install symantec for school I believe so I think I'm going to basically go AV free untill I buy it which should just be in a few days...I'm not going to be downloading anything.

Light leakage diminishes doesn't it? Thats what I heard at least...

Just search for AVG free. Norton uses too many resources, I think. And ZA is badass for firewall.

well I'm at 46 processes with AVG and I was at 41 without it...so I wondering if its about the same...it doesn't really matter since I'm going to have to get symantec anyway...

For some reason I can't get it to boot...

It just goes into Windows for some reason...

Help!


I burned it onto a CD but it won't boot from it...

Well...8 and a half hours in and 9 and half passes in and theres no errors yet. I'm not going to test it for 72 hours or anything crazy like that. I'll go to the beach and when I get home I'll see how its running...25 passes seems good to me...is that ok?


And...


Can I leave the screen on? I've never had and LCD before...they don't get burned images do they? I can't figure out how to have memtest on but turn the screen off...

What did you burn to? CD-R or what? Just curious, I need to go buy some. Never burned a CD in my life Also, what version memtest did you use? I got my Transcend today with Elpida chips, and Half Life 2 was awesome at full tilt.
