There were never any orders sent to asus by any dealer for the z70va. No such thing existed and still does not. End of story end of topic. Please move on or the release of the z70va will be postponed even longer.

i dont know if this is a good analogy, but here goes.

how many of you have ever preordered a video game, or console? it seems that the xbox 360 preorders are a mainstream in all video game stores. sure magazines have posted the specs, but xbox360 is a few months away and that may all change. there isnt even a set price for it yet. it could be $300 or it could be $500. also, have you ever preordered a video game? i cant tell you how many times a game has been preordered then delayed for a month+. starcraft ghost ne1? does this make the stores bad for offering this presale? i know alot of ppl who have paid of the xbox360 in "full" at its expected price, but if it ends up being raised in price they will have to pay the extra money to get it. ive seen preorders up to the 5th shipment already at some stores.

istnc is doing the right thing. they are offering a preorder for a much wanted item. it is not their fault, it is the buyers fault. istnc has said they will not charge extra money if the price is raised, and will give full refunds to those who wish. they are making themselves completely buyer friendly with these policies. it gets delayed until after school starts-i cancel and order something else. the price is raised-sucks for you who didnt preorder before the price adjustment cuz youll be paying more.

Not a good analogy. I told you so is an understatement. EVERY dealer who is active in the forums complained. Nobody confronted Rick directly as far as i know. Everyone stood by and watched him dig his own grave sort of speak. Every single dealer knew this will happen and most made this a public fact. People turned their head and decided to eat whatever the hero was feeding them. End result? This is it. A single dealer single handedly delayed the z70va. Rick gets away very easy with this as he just did not know this sort of thing is possible. Dont do it again and dont try to choke out your competitors. I told the same story starting 2 months ago to every single customer who cancelled their order for the current z70v. Some listened some belived. If the preorder continues to be a hott topic you will see the unit delayed into chrismas. Close this thread if you want to see the z70va and dont start a new one. Nobody should be advertising this unit now. There is no release date and there never was. At this point your risking it never even arriving.

please elaborate on exactly how he "single-handedly" delayed the z70va. that doesnt make too much sense to me.

You're ridiculous. First of all, I dont believe rick was as malicious as you make him out to be. Second of all, who cares about the competition. If what you do is legal... knock out the competition, thats success.

I wonder if I can single-handedly speed up the Z70Va? O I wish Asus would publish some kind of official release and keep it updated... why do they let it trickle down the grapevine? I'm really looking forward to the Z70Va, but by the looks of it, Asus will lose another customer... why did they have to delay such a nice laptop! ;_;

Let's see if I have this straight. ASUS leaks bits and drabs of advance info and as human nature would have it, people talk about it and ASUS. Excitement and expectancy builds. This is called clever marketing.
Then, things build to a frenzied level. Expectations are way beyond reality. People go semi-whacko. ASUS then decides to punish everyone by delaying even further, or possibly even cancelling, the awaited product.
Doesn't sound like a very good plan to me. What's wrong with this picture???? Are they geniuses or spoiled brats?

It hasn't even been officially delayed... Rick still says its on track for early July, I think it depends who you talk to.

That is exactly the problem. We're getting different news from different people. Some early August (Rick), some say September (Justin) and some say possibly not at all ( Eddie ).

The bottom line is that there is nothing we can do about it.

This thread is pointless and everything has been said. It should have been closed a while back... If there is an update, that would warrent a new thread. Its just getting to the point of pointless.

Llama (sorry i still dont know your name). I hope you dont buy into it. You promoted the laptop , the date and the preorder more then anyone. Any idea who leaked this sensetive info which originally was not intended (by Rick him self) to be on a need to know basis and blabbed it all over? Good intentions bad outcome. Very simple. No CRAP! Which part of what i have been saying all these months have not come true? I can be an A$$, but respect is a 2 way street. If i dont get it i wont give it. truth hurts so do irresponsible actions. I know they hurt me and all the other resellers who post here and other forums and now i can pounce on the people that made it happen so it dont happen again!

Here's the problem: You're pouncing on nothing. There is no official release of information. You're claim has not been validated.

Obviously I'd rather believe Rick than you, considering I preordered, but either way I'm not getting hurt because I can get a full refund and get another computer if it comes to that. You're just blabbering about respect because you lost out, but that's life.
