Ok. Well is there much of a differnece on a XPS 2 between 1.25 or 2GB's?
Between $100-$200 depending on the brand you get and where you get it from.. I'm happy with 1.25 (or 1280 as my sig says)

Lets just put it this way.... There is a difference I would go for it dude.... if your a gamer that is.

For BF2 its huge difference i hear.
I only have 1GB so i dont know what its like to have 2GB

There've been quite a few posts in here about issues with both BF2 and Transcend memory. Might wanna do some searches in here before you decide on either or both. Also, I just know that Far Cry is amazingly beautiful with what I have and very smooth with everything up on it. I don't know a thing about BF2 since I tried running the demo two times and both times it failed. I'm thinking it's a junk program..

So you'll probably be trying to sell a 256 stick or two also then. I wonder how much I can get for mine?

I was about to look that up.

I ordered my notebook on Friday with 256mb of RAM and also ordered a gig of transcend memory from newegg.. I wonder if it's bad to mix them both or if it's better to take the 256 out.
I have 2 GBs of transcend memory and am having no problems with BF2 or the memory

Yes, i know. I hav e 2GB's now. ^_^ I just need some cash so i was wondering if ill notice too much of a performance hit.

What settings could i play it on with 1.25GB's? Will i not be able to play it on high due to my ram?
My Ram usage with Textures set on high goes up to 1.30 GBs, but on medium as the ONLY change my ram usage doesn't break 1 GB, it usually "idles" in the mid 900 MBs arena

Alright, thanks.

Try taking one gig chip out and trying it out. easiest way to tell. You'll be a bit choppy on high settings with 1.25 gigs, and totally smooth with medium settings. but you'll probably want the 2 gigs for future games. Maybe sell a kidney instead?

It's hard not having a job lol. I will work somethingg out.
For the price having 2 gigs of ram is a no-brainer, just do it.
You might get a small performance boost with 2gigs due to the dual channel config (but only if you use two sticks with the same settings).

Right now I'm running 1.2gig (1gig Transcend + 256mb) and it's working fine. I'll get another 1gig stick eventually.

People who abuse the ram like myself will definetly notice it. Right now me and my friend are trying figure out the whole copy to ram drive with windows. We did it to my 8600 and that thing went flying compared to when things ran off the hard drive. Its a safe method considering the laptops all have batteries.

Go with 2GB so you can't think about upgrading.

Did anyone else notice that the Sager notebooks can only hold 2GB max, despite the fact that they have the 915P desktop chipset with 4 memory slots? I thought with 4 slots they could hold 4GB for sure...can anyone tell me why this is?
