VGP-BPL2 battery Problem!! Help

I just bought double capacity battery for my S460 notebook..

Please take a look

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Item number: 6787002349

it is VGP-BPL2 battery...

The problem is, when I install my battery on to my laptop.. It says it's a wrong battery when I login to windows.. BTW I use windows XP professional..

I'm like wtf and it hibernated automatically...

What's going on here?

You know the sticker right below keyboard shows the accessorieis that I can get for this notebook.. I exactly bought the thing that showed on sticker and having problem !!

I double checked that it's the right model number !

Anyone can help me out?

Fix

HI,
I read from another forum that you must remove the ISBMGR.exe from the start up task manager to use aftermarket batteries. I believe this is Sony's program to force us to buy original branded Sony batteries instead of buying generic alternatives....

Thank you SO MUCH !!
I was about to return my battery

Btw what does ISBMGR.exe do?

alsj411, can you give us an update as to how the battery is performing? Curious as to whether or not its going well... seems a little too exp to get the original sony bpl2 battery

I have a FS and am wondering if I have to disable the isbmgr.exe as well. I've thought about getting one of those ebay batteries, but all of the sony warranties scared me off. I agree, it is too expensive to give sony another $200 to get the actual stated battery life, I was told I would get at least 2.5 hrs but I am lucky if I can get 1.5.

For me I had to disable the isbmgr.exe on S460.. otherwise it will force you to shut down or hibernate your computer !...

I just charged for 10 hours (overnight)
I'll try it out and let you guys know

I think Sony did fix a lot of stuffs in the FS6xx since the monitor seems to work fine without any "buzzing noise" + battery life is getting around 2hr+ for standard battery and 4hr+ for double capacity one. The only think to fix in this laptop is its graphic (which will be far from now since it doesn't even available in Japan) and its monitor resolution (which is available in Japan and hopefully will be present in FS7xx)

I'm on power saving mode + optical drive off (DVD ram off) + battery saving mode on graphic card + 77.72 force ware driver

hopefully this help

Well I was saying WLAN not LAN. I mean with wireless off you could be hooked up to a router etc and hence be on the net in that way. Thanks for the feedback!
