is the 6800 ultra still the best card for gaming or is the quadro FX GO 1400 from nvidia better?

The Quadro FX is made for workstation apps. It's not good for gaming.

The second sentence is misguided. First off, the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra is the overall fastest card for gaming alone in this machine. The Quadro FX Go 1400 in this model is equivalent to the GeForce Go 6800 DDR3 from this same model. It does have additional hardware and software features that enhance OpenGL and workstation applications as well. Therefore, it would work just fine for gaming if one also needed a workstation style card as well.

Actually, I've heard that it suffers from gaming issues, including artifacts and far lower performance than it should have (being identical to the 6800u, gaming-wise.) It's not really misleading.

Actually, quite misleading... "I've heard" and actually having one to run and test are completely different situations. Also, it is not identical to the 6800 Ultra...it is comparable to the 6800 DDR3 (and obviously no artifacts) which was all stated above.

In any case, the original question was for the fastest GAMING card, and for gaming alone, the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra performs the highest.
