Acer 3003 LCI scroll button problems & ActiveX probs... help please

ok im a relative noob to notebooks, please bear with me. I just got a Acer 3003 LCI this past weekend and everything is running ok except the scoll button. When im using Mozilla Firefox browser the scroll button refuses to work. It is also very picky as to which websites it will work on with IE 6. It is also slow responding on IE as well as on documents. It is again pretty picky when it works on documents-- it wont work on Adobe Acrobat documents except every once in a while. Is this just a simple driver problem or what? Is this a known problem with this model? My other notebook is a Toshiba and i LOVE it. No problems out of it at all but they quit making that model and we couldnt find one at a decent price otherwise i would have purchased the toshiba. We couldnt pass up the deal we got on this ACER please
help me-- im starting to think that the deal was too good to be true.

The other problem i am having is when i use IE 6 to check my Gmail account, it says that the activex controls are not enabled-- i enabled them last nite and i still cannot get into my gmail using IE6 I can get into Gmail with no problems using Mozilla--

FYI-- the reason i have two browsers is because my work requires and only works with IE and i prefer Firefox for recreational and other work.

Also, when we purchased this laptop it stated that it had a 60 GB HDD-- there are two seperate hard drives- one is at 20 gb and the other 25 gb. Where are the other GB that they say its got? surely those arent eaten up by the pc usage?

Thanks so much!

I appreciate any help i can get

update... called acer support

I called acer support and the idiot that answered wouldnt know how to make a peanut butter sandwich. They were totally useless. They blamed it on Mozilla being installed-- How in the heck does mozilla prevent the scoll button from working in Adobe when mozilla isnt even running? He walked me thru the ActiveX enabling procedure which i have done many times and i still cant access my gmail account webbased on IE. Im not happy to say the least. I knew i should have bought another Toshiba. If anyone has any input on my acer problems, please please respond. Thank you
