buying an apple mouse

Thread Starter
I'm planning on ordering an iBook soon, but the ship time for an Apple mouse is listed as 2-3 weeks. Does this mean the whole shipment will take 2-3 weeks to be shipped, or will each part of the order be shipped when it's ready?
Also, do I really need an Apple mouse, or will I be be able to use the mouse from my pc laptop?

Thanks

No it won't take 2-3 weeks.

Yes it gets shipped as they are available, meaning you would get the laptop first.

Yes you can use your pc mouse, or any mouse for that matter. It will work fine.

yes u can use any USB mouse you might have. if it's ps/2 u'll need a USB>ps/2 adapter. personally i'd stick with what u have now if u like it. since the new iBooks have bluetooth built in u could pick up a BT mouse of your choice as well.

a lot of people use Logitechs mx900 because it is bluetooth. I would personally get a 2 button mouse, unless you've had macs for a while, then I guess a 1 button mouse will suit you fine. Most mouses, if not all, come with the adapter anyway.

I would get the MX900, it looks awsome and its BT. I dont like the apple mouse so i never got it, i got a Logitech with my Mac Mini

I have a 5-button mouse, but I never use it. I've just been using the trackpad and button for the past month or so and actually find it to be more comfortable than the external keyboard and mouse I own.

The logitech MX seriesare the best mice I have ever used, hands down. I bought the mx700 when it first came out- absolutely fantastic. I bouth the mx505 when it came out for my laptop. Fantastic. I would like to get the mx900 for my mac.... if it only came in white.

Seriously, they are the best mice out there.

Yes, a mx900 in iMac white would be very cool. Someone should write logitech about it.

The Apple keyboard switches the Windows and Alt keys, (compared to where they normally are) though.
