I have the North Face one and I like it a lot. My laptop (Thinkpad T42) fits in nicely and it's padded. I've had it for a couple of days now and I like it so far.

I just got the Timberland Dogwood the other day and it is cool, it has lots of pockets which is a plus and two water bottle holders.

I too have the dogwood by Timberland. It is a great backpack with lots of room. My 6000 fits quite nicely and I feel safe stroing my ipod in the padded music slot. Although I have not loaded it full of books and anything besides the laptop and a few accesories it seems quite comfortable and very durable.

I have an older Timberland backpack (one of the first to have a laptop pocket) and it has held up beautifully over the years. In fact it still looks like it was new.

If nothing else I can say the Timberland bags hold up extremley well. I used this bag all through college and beyond.

Timberland bags do hold up very well. On my specific bag it has the best zippers on a notebook. They are large smooth and durable.
