Ferrari Catalyst problems... sorry about repost- wrong title on other thread!

Hi,

I have a ferrari 3400lmi that has been upgraded a bit (1gb of 3200 ram, 80gb 5400 hdisk etc).

I tried playing half life 2 with the acer provided drivers which ran mostly smooth, except for the odd pause/stutter.

To resolve this, I thought "I know, I will try one of the newer catalyst drivers"... So I installed the ATI ones, then using a cat modder, updated the relevant files so that they worked for the R9700 mobility...

I then tried Half life 2 again - Black screen. I tried a few other games - Black screen.

I was recommended the Omega drivers and the DNA drivers as well (although I personally can't stand either of them as all of the "results" you get are just simple ini modifications.) so I tried them - Black screen.

The only drivers I have been able to play games with are the ACER ones - Has anyone experienced this?

How do I get round it?

Make sure you uninstall the previous driver before you install the new ones.
Sometime an old .dll left out can goofed up the new driver pretty bad.
For best result use DriverCleanerPro to uninstall the driver.
