Thanks, I'm giving it a try right now.

hmm, doesn't really sound like I need to flash. The docking issue is about the only reason as that just doesn't work well. I have to go to standby to undock otherwise very odd things happen.

All is well with the new bios, but unfortunately it didn't help with the bsod I keep getting. I'm really getting frustrated with these "Memory Parity Error" messages. Anyway, at least the bios is good.

what kinda ram do you have element?

It says only for US customers. Should I wait for my "Australian" system? Are the systems any different, or is there a warranty problem?

BIOS versions aren't country/language specific...
Your Australian updates should be identical to U.S. updates, except with an added funny accent

All my ram is straight from Dell. I know I should have used newegg, but at the time I was fairly new to the whole laptop thing so I went with Dell. The laptop came with 512MB installed and I added the 1GB stick myself (bottom compartment). I'm going to try contacting Dell on Monday to see what they can do.
