Good X600 Driver

Hey guys,

My friend got a good deal on a Latitude D810 through his school. The only problem is it has an X600 and he wants to game. I know its not the best mobile card, but it still should have the performance of a 9700Pro, or so I'm told. Well it doesn't, Doom 3 barely runs at 800x600 with 2xAA, 4xAF. Although the card is not overclocked, I still think it should be able to do more. This leads me to thinking the driver is the problem. So, I'm looking for a good X600 driver. The ones at www.laptopvideo2go.com aren't that great, where are you guys getting them from?

Thanks, Mr. K6

I'm not familiar with D810 x600,but when I had an I8600 with MR9600 I had the same problems with Doom 3.I read somewhere that the X600 is built on the 9600 core and modified for PCI express interface so I wouldn't expect it to perform as well as a MR9700
I found the best performing drivers were DNA drivers,I think you can get them from 3Dguru,you might have to mod them with the DH mod tool which modifies desktop ATI drivers for laptops[from Driver Heaven?]also using AA and AF with Doom 3 is a resource hog for very little visual gain, you might find if you turn off AA and AF you can run at 1024x768 which after seeing D810 3dmark03 benchmarks will be about your lot
