Dell i8600 Idle Temperatures

I am interested in knowing what kind of temperatures the Dell i8600 onwers are getting with the system is at a idle state. Mine is usually at approximatley 34 degrees Celcius when plugged-in and about 26 degrees Celcius when unplugged. What kind of temperature ratings is everyone else getting?
Here is the hyperlink for the utlity:

I have a Dell Latitude D800 with the following specs.:
WUXGA Display
1.7 Ghz Pentium-M
60 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
768 MB RAM

Here are my temps. (in degrees Celsius) while plugged in and my computer is idle (except for this page and the program open).
CPU: 43
GPU: 48
DIMM: 58
HD: 39

My temperatures seem to be higher than yours, but maybe this is because I have different specs. What CPU and Hard Drive do you have? Mine are the two parts which would most likely read with the highest temperatures.

I hope this is what you were looking for. This program, as well as the author's "SpeedSwitch" programs are pretty darn cool. Peace.

AwEsoMe!!!
The system seems to rin SuPeR CoOol. After a game my fans kick on high and they bring my system back to homeostasis AhHh...

Hahaha,

"homeostasis," eh? Yeah, this thing definitely runs cool. Mine's in the 40-43C range also.

I'm noticing that unlike my Sager, the bottom's getting hot. What do you all think about those heatpipe coolers? In the case with an 8600, I do see it potentially working. But on the other hand, the fans aren't kicking in when I feel it's hot so maybe it's not that hot? Maybe it's just me?

I dunno. Matrix Revolutions was good!

I think that has something to do with fan placement. With the Sagers, the fans are actually on the bottom. With our Dells, the fans are located down the right side and beneath the screen near the back. Thus, it is all about placement.

Oh yeah, feel again where your bottom is getting hot (Ok, that sounded weird, haha) and you will notice that it is the RAM DIMMS. Obviously, this SHOULD be getting hot, so you SHOULD NOT worry about it too much!

I hope that helped.

You want me to feel what?! How dare you!

It's really not a big deal so I might as well forget about it. I noticed that they're offering free upgrade from cdrw drive to a dvd writable drive now. I think the difference is only $30 too. Dangit. I SO do not want to send this back and have to order another one.

My I8600 CPU temp is at 54 and my CPU load is only 7%. WTF! My system seems be staying warmer for longer...this better not be a sign of more heat to come...

Uh oh

54 degrees after what kind of usage? I'm at 44 right now, after an hour or so of surfing with it sitting in my lap, blocking any vents. haha.

that seem slike a terrible temperature for a Pentium M based whats the room temperature your always in? 75 F?

Yeah that was a high temp. that makes me a little nervous, but right now my CPU is 31.

I installed those programs that you guys had mentioned before under other topics and I get temps mostly in the 40-51 C range when in use, if it just sits there idle then it gets down in the mid 30's to upper 30's range. I did notice the temp getting up to the very low 60's briefly when in heavy use and also the ambient temp was relatively hot too. My fan comes on a fair bit when in heavy use I've noticed, I guess this is kind of good since I know it works.

My system is constantly ine the 50s for some reason and when I play heavy apps my temp. drops down into the 40s beacuse the fans kick on. Im not into this whole 50s range and its kind of getting to me.

I should probably just keep the temp app closed so it doesnt irritate me...but Y 50 EErrRR

BTW I ran into a fellow sagerforums member at best buy this weekend i noticed him b/c he was sporting a SaGer 5680 lappy. he is an EpSon rep. GoOd to see another member. L0ki047 turned out to be my neighbor at school. What a coincidence.

Yeah, I wouldn't let it bother you too much. If the temp. is getting up into the 50's it obviously is okay, as long as everythign is running fine. When the fans kick on, there is a purpose as well.

I think this program is making us worry too much! Haha, oh well, as long as your computer is running fine I say who cares....have a good day .
