Any 6000/700m owners regret their choice?

Many of us got in on various Dell deals and were stuck deciding between an ultratiny 700m or a powerpacked 6000. Im wondering if anyone regrets their choice.

I originally wanted a 700m, but I owned one for a bit last year and returned it because i couldnt get used to it. So i just went for the 6000 just because i had concession coupons and i needed a computer now. I guess im happy with my 6000 because its definitely worth what i paid, but the size of the 700m is missed. It stinks there still isnt something in between.

Nope, love my 700m.

None at all, perfect size for me and the price was awesome (under $750). But I must admit I would never pay full price for it. But who does?

i regret buying the 700m, because i could have had a V8 instead

But the 700M doesn't leave stains on your shirt.

I don't regret the 700m one bit. Sure, the keyboard is a bit small, but it also gets about 5 times the battery life of my 9100 between the 4 and the 8 cell batteries I bought for it.

I also don't need a 6000 or a 9300, I have a 9100 still that suits my gaming and power computing needs just fine.

I got my 6000 during the 750 deal in April, and my 700m during this last coupon. I don't regret either.
The 6000 replaced my Inspiron 1100 and the 700m replaced my Averatec 3225hs.

I just got mine today. I love it. I love how small and portable it is. I was between a W3V or this and well I don't think I am sending this one back. Go with it.

There is something between the 700m and 6000... the 600m.

You get a 14" screen capable of 1024x768 or 1400x1050, 5 lbs, a serial port, docking station capability, swapable drive bays (you can install a floppy, a second battery, a second hard drive or even a blank spacer to save weight), infrared, a 32MB or 64MB Radeon 9000 and the largest keyboard Dell makes for a laptop (the same size keyboard is used for the 600m, 6000, 9300 & XPS)

You miss out on a 533FSB, a couple of extra USB ports, scrolling on the touchpad, SD Card slot, Firewire and a slightly more updated design.

I bought my wife a 600m last year for school and it still performs and looks awesome. There is a reason they have sold this laptop for the past two years. There is nothing to go inbetween the 700m and the 6000. It was the inbetween when Dell sold the 300m and the 8500/8600.

Dell released an update for the Latitude D600, which is basically the same laptop as the Inspiron 600m, and they gave it the 915G chipset, which gave it support for DDR2 and 533mhz FSB processors, but largely kept it most the same. They did take out the dedicated video card though. It's a bummer, but the 915 may perform close enough to the Radeon 9000 level that it made sense to take it out.

I think we'll see Dell selling the 600m for another year at least. There's a ton of models that have gone since it was out and I believe it is the rock that will weather the storm.

Anyways, BUY A 600M!!!

I'd consider the 600M, but I have 4 external firewire drives so the lack of a fw port is kind've a deal killer for me.

just get a pcmia firewire card, 600m is an awesome machine but I sold mine to get the 700m, and since all I play is starcraft and euchre im completely happy with my choice. The 64meg mobility 9000 is suprisingy capable though for the occasional gamer.

I actually had a 600m on order but cancelled after reading reviews. Apparently it gets very hot and thats something i really dont like. The 700m is a very cold machine and the 6000 has never gotten warm at all.

I like the 600m for its size but thats a machine that is way past the end of its life cycle. it doesnt have a widescreen or firewire so i think a replacement should be out within the next 6months and i couldnt wait that long. it did have bluetooth as an option though so thats definitely a plus for the 600m.

Just as a note, my wife has had a 600m for just under a year now, and I have not experienced any problem due to heat. Maybe some reviewers just have puny girly skin.

I have both 700m and 9300 with 6800. I got both with the $750 off coupons. No regrets here.
