How much do you actually save?

I was looking at all the post about buying RAM thru a 3rd party, what is the actual savings?

dell says "add $250" to upgrade to 1gb of RAM (from 256).

Their 1gb is in the form of 512x2

Whereas if you get the transcend RAM from newegg...a 1gb stick is ~$100, in the form of 1024x1.

Basically, over a hundred bucks difference

Defenitly worth buying thrid party and its a breeze to install.
