Greys and Fleshtones = crazy pixels

Well I have looked around on the forums for stuff pertaining to my problem but I have yet to find anything to relavent (if I am wrong please hook me up with a link)

My problem is that sometimes my LCD goes crazy whenever I have stuff on the screen that are some tones of fleshtones and some greys... but it is only those pixels which are effected... and it is not just certain pixels... if I move the image or video around the screen whatever pixel which is trying to render that color goes crazy and, I am very hesitant in using this word since it is used to describe other things, "sparkles". The pixels change colors in the white range and sometimes some other colors like shades of blue and red and such... too fast for me to see any sort of trend in color choice...

I have reinstalled XP, have no overclocking, and I am using only the drivers supplied by the sager website...

I cannot really pin down when it chooses to have this problem, it happens when I leave the computer running for a while, downloading torrents, after leaving a game (could hapeen in game just can't really notice)...

If you guys have any ideas that would be great...

Specs

9880
3.2GHz P4 630
1 GB DDR2
60GB Sata
Nvidia 6800 Go Ultra 256MB
1920X1280 Non Glossy (WUXGA I think)
DVD Writer

Thanks alot guys... I am also going to call tech support when I can figure out why the PCTorque number is not working for me...

Sounds like "sparkles" to me. Wasn't that the reason that Sager was hessitant to offer the WUXGA initially. Try seeing what happens when you are moving a picture with light yellows, light greens, and medium reds combined within the same graphic. This color combo should really sparkle.

Yeah it does... but it also "sparkles" when the image is just sitting there...

I called PCT support and the guy I talked to told me this was a new thing that he had not really heard much about... if it is something that has happened before he was either new or I just did not explain it well enough (which is very much possible).

He told me to install the Omega drivers, which I did... and the problem cropped up again... guess I need to call him...

I hope it is something that I can fix myself... I am leaving for Germany on August 28th for a year abroad at Heidelberg and I would hate to have to send this thing back before I go, because it may not get back in time... I bought it in mid June so I am assuming that my problem is possibly a defect or something...

Well sager told me to send them some images... these are what I sent them..

I edited the source images so that the areas in yellow have problems...
and the areas in red are the ones that are zoomed in...

The last zoomed in image is where I actually zoomed in using the software and when it expanded the image to use more pixels the color problems spread to all of those pixels too....

Yesterday I noticed sparkles playing World of Warcraft and they are really noticeable once you lower your resolution. I am going to contact Sager about it on Monday.

Can anyone tell me if its possible they just send a replace of the video card in the mail if you send yours or do you need to ship your whole lappy?

Well apparently it seems to do it after I leave my laptop on and close the lid for a while... I don't know if the LCD is getting too hot or something but it never feels warm at all to the touch...

DO NOT OPERATE SAGERS WITH THE LCD SHUT!!!

The keyboard area is part of the cooling system. Doing so, will actually Bake the machine in a short amount of time causing all sorts of problems.

so I need to put it on suspend every time I close the LCD?..

I have never had a laptop where there was necessary before...

Actually, now that I think about it a bit, there are no warnings regarding this in the user's manual. It's your machine and your choice.

Well they are having me RMA my machine, so as soon as I backup everything and get back from the beach I am going to send my machine off to them... I hope I can get it back before the end of August... August 28th is when I leave the country for a year...
