replace m70 memory question

I had no problems upgrading memory in the 9300 and i want to do the same with the m70, But i just opened the back and i only see one slot, the other one is probably hidden because i cannot see it. I looked in the service manual and it does not show it, just access to the one slot.

appreciate if you guys can help me with this.

I already got a "NMI : parity check/memory parity error" screen, no idea what it could be.

thanks

Regarding your error: it's pretty straight forward. It's computer speak for bad RAM. Could have been that things just weren't seated properly right off the bat or some other freak occurance but I'd recommend looking into running a program like memtest86 to put it through the ringer. Not sure what company you bought your ram through but if you call them and tell them that your getting those errors they will generally give you very little hassle replacing it.

I've had precisely the same problem, and I thought perhaps it was just a bad stick of ram. However, I didn't start getting BSoD's until a few weeks ago, and I've had the memory installed for a couple of months. Does memory start okay and then go bad? I'm calling Dell on Monday (all the memory is from Dell), so we'll see what they have to say.

Same here, the memory came from Dell. It happened the first time last night, i was using maya, rendering something then all of sudden the blue screen with that message.

I already ordered some ram from crucial (2 gb and now i have 2x 512 from dell), so i will be replacing, if the problem is really the ram it should be fixed when i install the new ram.

I read a little bit about memtest86, so this weekend i will try to do that.

TheElement, let me know what dell says about that problem when you call them.

I'm getting this error too all of a sudden, and I've had my memory in there for months.

I wonder if it's tied to the video driver? the only thing i've changed lately is to update to the newest dell driver.

it's driving me crazy.

i did memtest last night... let it run all night and had no errors this morning at like 5000%.

I not sure what's going on.
