at basic graphics level, you will be ok with shared graphics. if you want all the eye candy and a good performance, grab anything dedicated, even a 440go will do

Actually, with my old desktop that I still have with a P3 850 and Intel Integrated Extreme graphics, I can run Half Life 1 at 1600x1200.

This is my experience with CS 1.6.

On desktop with 256mb pc100 ram, 866mhz P3, and intel i810: low eye candy, 800x600 max

On laptop with AMD64 3200+, 1gb pc2700ram, ATi 9700: smooth as butter when plugged in with FULL eye candy, or with medium-high eye candy when on battery

On desktop with 512mb pc100, 866mhz P3, and nVidia fx5700 128MB: pretty damn smooth with the eye candy and everything.
