I have $800 to spend on a laptop for a Junior in college that will be traveling out of country for the next year. I have narrowed things down to something from Dell or an IBM Thinkpad T41 used from fleabay.
Before you start, I have used fleabay to build two desktops and feel fairly secure in the process.
Anyway, we need warranty coverage, good battery life, and reliability. I really want Pentium M as the processor but realize this strains the budget.
Since there are several vastly experienced laptop owners/repairers on this site, I thought to ask you opinions and recommendations.
