Anyone else noticed these modules on newegg? Don't think they where there before so I assume newegg just started carrying em.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else have ordered these and tried them?

I got two of the 1gig Transcend sticks from newegg about 4 months ago for my XPS 2 and they work great for me.

I guess you were lucky to receive a good pair of modules.

I would get the Transcend but I am in Canada and my laptop is with a friend in the US who'll bring it up here in a month. So I don't think I would be able to do any exchanges from up here if I do find the Transcend modules giving me errors, considering quite a few bunch of people here are receiving faulty modules.

Now, if these Samsung modules have lower failure rates than Transcend, I don't mind paying the extra $20US to get them. And btw, I know a lotta the other module makers like ocz, corsair use Samsung chips in their products, so I figure if Samsung is selling their own modules with their chips, might as well get those and know that they have Samsung chips.

Samsung makes high quality chips and modules, you probably won't have any problems.

Do the 1GB modules also have 4-4-4-8 timings?

Yes, but the DELL BIOS sets the OCZ to 4-4-4-12... arggh. Slower as the Samsung before (4-4-4-10).
