Clean Up computer files, documents

Thread Starter
Hello - I'm new to the forum so I hope this gets through loud and clear. I have been receiving messages on my laptop (as well as my PC) that many of my files are "corrupted" in several areas. I've also noticed very weird things happening as I log on, to include slowness and failure to arrive at my home page without a lot of garbage appearing on screen. Something is wrong!

Does anyone have a recommendation as to the BEST softward program for auto cleaning of the computer? I don't want to have to delete files or folders manually. Anything that could help me delete unnecessary files, programs, etc would be appreciated. I've seen things like Error Doctor, Bug Doctor etc and they all say they are the best. Any thoughts?

Sounds like your lappy is not being taken care of

What I would do is backup everything you need and reformat the HD and put a nice new instal of Windows Will be like having a new lappy I never used any automatic cleaning software, i dont trust them, I either do it manually of if it gets way out of hand then a clean instal always helps

Goodluck

Clean install, difference between night and day.

I agree. Time for a clean install, and this time install some anti spyware and anti virus while you're at it. Even a Zonealarm firewall would be recommended.

Reformat and reinstall Windows would be the best thing to do. Afterwards, make sure you install:

Spybot S&D
Lavasoft Adaware
Zone Alarm Firewall
Antivirus (AVG, Avast)

I agree. And add Microsoft Anti-Spyware and CCleaner to the that list.
