Llama you may have not heard but istnc will be the sole reseller to sell the z70v refresh to end users. We and everyone else will not be getting them till septemeber. Does this strike anyone as odd? What a tangled web we weave,,,,...... you know the rest.

He said that ASUS told him there were going to be three demo models for all North America. They were supposed to be arriving soon. (Can't remember the exact date they're arriving).
Anyways, I feel this is fair information, as I'm not speculating when units to be sold will be arriving in US or Canada.

Edit: Late night grammar mistakes.

No thats not correct but about as close to the truth as posible here now at this time. Thanks for the link never been there. Unbelivable how popular teck forums got over the last half year. Its like a new one is popping up everyday. Thats truly awesome. I love to see that.
so istnc is tapped out for the initial shipment and no one else will be getting it till next month?
So should I put in the order for the Asus z70va with istnc now?

I have waited for this laptop for so long.
Yes you should. Also make sure to post your review and date you received it as well as eta for it. Has been confirmed by a number of users on this forum that they have received or will be the first and only reseller in usa to receive the refresh for resale to everyone who wants it.

G2p07,

I think I will take your advice and will order the unit through istnc.

I know that you are the owner of geared2play and I have been to your website and your forum and have been bouncing back and forth between 3 sites (notebookforums, your site, and notebookreview). I have read most of your posts and I know that you have been on top of things reguarding this.

When it comes to buying a notebook, I am very picky. I rather work overtime and have a little bit more money to buy the computer that I want rather than trying to save a few bucks. Also, I do a lot of research from not just models of same company but also of different companies. I try to avoid being narrow-minded so that I can get the best possible laptop.

Even though you are a competitor to istnc, you adviced me to buy it from them. You sound sincere and want the best for me.

Can I ask you an honest opinion? (PM me if you prefer). If you know what you know now and if you are in my shoe, would you buy the z70va from istnc today? I know that in the previous post you did say "yes" but I just want to hear it one more time. Is that your final answer? (Sounds like Who Wants to be a Millionaire show :-) )

Again please guys, keep this thread to be informative and lesser speculation between vendors / resellers. I will delete discussion relating to it.

PM each other for all other discussions

no complaints on my side i agree with your decision. I guess i am instigator???
If I only play older games, is it worth it to get the new Z70v version, or should I stick with the original version?
You might as well stick with the Z70V... the X600 is still a fairly powerful gaming card in its own right, and even integrated graphics could run circles around older games.
Okay. Thank you!
i dont think i'm gonna order from istnc just yet...i'll wait for a couple reviews on the z70va before i take the plunge.

I, myself, is interested in the z70va design as it was the M6 series in which I liked. But I will wait for the x700 review before I make any decision

People are talking about these laptops being "tested", what could be wrong with these laptops? I mean if it only has an internal bluetooth and the X700 card what are the main reasons it needs to be tested for? Heat problems and such?

All laptops need to be tested. Not all laptops perfect. While the design look nice and specification rock, all laptops might not be as great as it seems.

Some might have heat issue while other might have battery issue, etc.

There could be numerous things that could make a great spec laptop not so great.

Not saying Z70va isn't great, just a general comment.

shouldnt those things be tested by the company

Yeah... however the resellers have to watch their ass. After all... if something messes up, the customer goes back to the reseller, not ASUS.

That is correct. But some reseller don't do it. Some will go out of their ways and do the whole burn in test, etc. While other, all they care about is if it boots. Some don't test as all.

You could tell by the amount of RMA complaints pretty much. Those who test, tends to have lesser RMA after let say 6 months or 12 months than those who don't.
