I have one of these on my desk with 2.13, 2GB, 100 SATA, 7800GTX. I like it but it's too heavy, gets too hot and I honestly don't like the look of it . I preffer the Arima 17" W810-DCX. Not SATA but I am more fond of the quality of the build. Screen on the Clevo is very nice, however. Nice A grade gloss (like most 17"s though). Weight of 4.5kg-4.8kg (go convert it yourselves, you lazy sods )

USA/Australia badged:
MetaBox 730S", "DreamBook Power 570A", "MACRON PW70", "SAGER NP5720

Anyone brave enough to take it apart and take a photo of the GPU (Videocard) module? I wonder if its true MXM or proprietary as in the D900T?

I too have one of these, and Im actually quite happy about it

Yes, its heavy, but you dont get lightweight with these specs. But that is not really why I'm here. I've searched the net for an answer, but so far came up emptyhanded.

I'm looking for a way to easily turn the touchpad on or off. With other notebooks I know they have an option in the driver - but I've clicked on each and every setting the bundled driver, and so far havent found anything that turns the touchpad off.

A perfect solution would be that the driver automatically turned the touchpad off whenever I connected a mouse - but an option to turn it off would work as well. The thing is, that when I use the laptop for gaming, I use a mouse - and when operating both the mouse and the keyboard, you sometimes place yoru hand on the touchpad, and thus moving the mousepointer = bad idea.

So can anyone here tell me how to turn the touchpad off - without having to completely uninstall the drivers each time?

Thanks.

If my question is posted in the wrong forum I apologize, Im new to these forums.

Here is the link to the thread for disabling the touchpad and toggling the fans to full auto. The firmware is in the post.

Cantora and/or Sykokaj (or anyone else who owns a M570A),

You guys both said you have a M570A. I'm considering getting one and wanted a bit more info on the system:

1. How is the screen? I'm not sure if the 1900x1200 screen is worth it. Did either of you get the 1440x900 one? Any stuck pixels? Comments?

2. How's the noise? I figure the GTX needs some pretty serious cooling and am wondering about fan noise. I don't expect these babies to be silent but want something "reasonable".

I agree with Cantora that it's not going to win any beauty contests but it's a hell of a lot better than the Dell linup ;-) But, other than the Dell M170 or the Clevo D900T/K, what else has a 7800GTX Go in it?

I know the M590K is coming out soon (Turion64 w/ SLI 7800 & 19" screen) but that monster will probably cost more than my car (and weight just as much)!

I'm trying to hold out just a bit longer to see if a Yonah-based M570A equivalent shows up soon. However, as Core Duo designs seem to be slow in coming, I may have to stick with a M570A. Just wanted a bit more first hand info before laying out the $$$.

Thanks!

P.S: One more thing... Can an external monitor be used as a second screen (not just a clone of the laptop screen) so you can run a dual desktop?
